The means of assessing, through the use of instrumentation and observation, a client's speech and language functionality, and implementing a therapeutic program to assist the client in adapting to, or overcoming limitations of, any identified Speech and Language Disorder.
A Speech and Language Therapy Program may include 1) Coaching a client through various physical, mental or emotional exercises, 2) Recommending, customizing and training a client in the effective use of alternative, adaptive or prosthetic language devices or language systems, 3) coaching caregivers, friends, family members and others in providing a supportive environment for the client, and 4) monitoring a client's progress and modifying approaches as applicable. |
